Built in 1936, The State Theatre served as a popular movie theatre until the late 1980s. A multi-million-dollar restoration, in the late 1990s, turned it into the Washington Metro area's favorite new venue for live music and private events. The 200 balcony seats are original as is the full theatrical stage and both lobbies. The elegant restoration added larger bathrooms, a kitchen, tiered dining and dancing areas in the auditorium, plus a team of catering professionals.
